Over 20 years ago, our first bamboo cutting boards came from scraps of the handmade furniture we were selling at street festivals. On a whim, we brought them to an art show we were exhibiting, and were stunned when they sold within minutes. This prompted Joanne to look at Tom and say, "This is our new product," and so Totally Bamboo was born.

Bamboo is one of the most sustainable resources in the world. Despite its tough exterior, it is actually a grass, and when harvested, the roots remain, allowing it to quickly regrow. Bamboo does not require clear cutting, artificial irrigation or replanting, making it an eco-friendly choice. It is also better for your kitchen - lightweight yet incredibly durable, gentle on knives, and easier to clean and maintain than hardwood.
